When I think of summer I think of s’mores. Crisp graham crackers, molten chocolate, and gooey marshmallows sandwiched together and oozing all over the place. The problem with s’mores? You tend to need a campfire. Using the stove can leave marshmallows tasting like gas and the broiler is a scary monster I don’t like to put sugar within 100 miles of.
I co-hosted a wine tasting featuring Uproot wines last week and created food pairings to go with four different wines. I tried to come up with things that were simple, went well with the wines, but were a little unexpected. I was also craving s’mores while coming up with the menu. So I threw a s’more on it…paired with a grenache that rocks my world.
It was also the perfect reason to break out the blow torch.
